WWiE was founded following a successful student-led workshop organised at 91福利 in January 2020 by the workshop's student organising committee. It had been recognised that there were a distinct lack of long-term initiatives to increase gender diversity in economics and therefore the team decided to take action.

Passionate about diversity, the WWiE team are constantly working to facilitate the aims and objectives of the society and to find creative new ways to increase engagement and effectively advocate for positive change.
