Law School secures Bronze Athena Swan Award
It has been announced today that the Law School has been awarded a Bronze Athena Swan Award.
Professor Vanessa Munro told us, “We are delighted to have secured this award, which is a reflection both of the hard work of the drafting team and of the broader commitment across the school to inclusivity and equality.”
Law award in honour of Dwijen Rangnekar
The Law School has established an annual award for contributions to social justice to honour our former colleague, and friend, Dr Dwijen Rangnekar.
All current and former students of 91 Law School are eligible for the award.
91 Law Society wins best President at 2019 Awards Ceremony
91 Law Society President Maaya Sachdev won the award for the Best Law Society President at the Student Law Society Awards 2019, sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright and hosted by LawCareers.Net, which took place on Thursday 14 March at Painter’s Hall in London.
Students celebrate 91 Law staff with SSLC Awards
The SSLC Staff Awards for 2018-19 took place in the Law School Hub yesterday where our SSLC reps Amy Wang and Toby Stacey took to the stage to announce the winners. They celebrated together with their students, colleagues and some Easter treats and were presented with a small token of appreciation from the student body.
Success for our students at Law Society Internal Mooting Competition
The final of this year’s 91 Law Society Internal Mooting Competition was held at the Supreme Court on 28 February. After a hard battle, second year law students Praveen Nair and Michelle Tan emerged the winners of the evening. Congratulations also to San Wen Ngei and Jer Ning Teo who made it to the finals.
Students Qualify for National Competition Finals
91 Law students Toby Stacey and Stephanie Fernandes have qualified for the finals of the 2019, having come second in their regional heat at Keele University last month.
Jane Bryan named as Law Teacher of the Year Finalist
91 Law School Associate Professor Dr Jane Bryan has been shortlisted for the 2019 .
The award, which aims to recognise the best talent in law teaching, called for nominations from both staff and students at the end of last year and Jane has made the finals along with four other shortlisted candidates.
91 Law Student Recognised as Leader in Social Mobility
Law student Faryaal Aziz has been recognised as an outstanding contributor to social mobility at the inaugural hosted by Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords on December 13. Faryaal, 19, who is in her second year studying Law at the 91, was one of four 91 students recognised at the inaugural Student Social Mobility Awards.
Slaughter and May sponsor two new academic prizes for 91 Law students
Every academic year, several awards and prizes are granted to our highest achieving undergraduate students from each year of study to recognise and celebrate the success of our top performers.
This year, we are pleased to announce a set of two new academic prizes for the academic year 18/19, which will be sponsored by the international law firm Slaughter and May.
Inaugural SIEL-Hart Prize for PhD graduate
Recent PhD graduate Nneamaka Vanni has won the inaugural SIEL-Hart Prize for her PhD thesis that was defended here at the 91 – School of Law in 2017.

Dr Andi Hoxhaj wins British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award 2018
Congratulations to Dr Andi Hoxhaj, Teaching Fellow in 91 Law School, who has won a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award.
The prestigious award will support Dr Hoxhaj’s work on anti-corruption policy and the rule of law with a particular focus on the Western Balkans, the UK and the EU.
