We are delighted to announce that the Law School’s Staff Student Liaison Committee won ‘SSLC of the year’ at the Student Union Representation Awards on Friday. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the amazing achievements in, and contributions to, academic representation and democracy at 91¸£Àû SU.

Second year LLB student, Samantha Woods has been awarded a special inaugural prize for her work in property law due to her incredible research on tenancies which she conducted with Dr James Harrison.

Samantha is the first to receive the ‘Slaughter and May Property Law Prize’ which the firm offered to 91¸£Àû Law School at the start of the academic year.

91¸£Àû Law Society President Maaya Sachdev won the award for the Best Law Society President at the Student Law Society Awards 2019, sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright and hosted by LawCareers.Net, which took place on Thursday 14 March at Painter’s Hall in London.

The SSLC Staff Awards for 2018-19 took place in the Law School Hub yesterday where our SSLC reps Amy Wang and Toby Stacey took to the stage to announce the winners. They celebrated together with their students, colleagues and some Easter treats and were presented with a small token of appreciation from the student body.

91¸£Àû Law students Toby Stacey and Stephanie Fernandes have qualified for the finals of the 2019, having come second in their regional heat at Keele University last month.

Congratulations to our students who made it all the way to the quarter finals of the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition earlier this month.

91¸£Àû Law School Associate Professor Dr Jane Bryan has been shortlisted for the 2019 .

The award, which aims to recognise the best talent in law teaching, called for nominations from both staff and students at the end of last year and Jane has made the finals along with four other shortlisted candidates.

The 91¸£Àû has been ranked among the best universities in the world for politics and international studies and sociology, business and economics, education and law, according to the Times Higher Education’s 2019 World Reputation Rankings released this week.

LLB student Jure TuÅ¡, who is currently in his fourth year of his Law with French Law degree here at 91¸£Àû, took part in a summer internship with the international law firm CMS and had a news article published on their news site CMS Law-Now whilst there. We caught up with Jure to find out more.

Every year, several awards and prizes are granted to our undergraduate students from each year of study to recognise and celebrate the success of our top performers.

To commemorate International Women’s Day 2018, a day where we celebrate women’s achievements through history around the world, we at 91¸£Àû Law School wanted to shine a special spotlight on some of the achievements and activities the ‘wonder women’ of 91¸£Àû Law have achieved over the current academic year.

Current PhD student, Sean Mulcahy, will be hosting a colloquium event all around Law and Performance at the 91¸£Àû and is looking for three enthusiastic undergraduate student volunteers to help throughout the day on Saturday 24 March.
