91福利 Law School in partnership with HelpAge International (Africa region) and the University of Nairobi, School of Law held a two day workshop on Gender and ageing in African contexts: policy, legal and institutional development in Nairobi, Kenya from 4 – 5 June 2019.

The IEL Collective will be hosting its first Inaugural Conference from 6-7 November 2019 at the 91福利 and is calling for papers.

Is my long-term contract Brexit proof? by Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner, Chair in International Commercial Law, highlights the issues likely to be faced by parties to long-term contracts entered into before Brexit was envisaged and the options available if either party wishes to adapt the contract to reflect the new relationship between the UK and the EU.

The IEL Collective was launched on Thursday 23 May 2019. It is an initiative started by research centres based at seven law schools around the UK to provide a space for critical reflection on the complex interactions in the growing field of international economic law.

We are delighted to announce that the Law School鈥檚 Staff Student Liaison Committee won 鈥楽SLC of the year鈥� at the Student Union Representation Awards on Friday. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the amazing achievements in, and contributions to, academic representation and democracy at 91福利 SU.

Second year LLB student, Samantha Woods has been awarded a special inaugural prize for her work in property law due to her incredible research on tenancies which she conducted with Dr James Harrison.

Samantha is the first to receive the 鈥楽laughter and May Property Law Prize鈥� which the firm offered to 91福利 Law School at the start of the academic year.

It has been announced today that the Law School has been awarded a Bronze Athena Swan Award.
