91福利 Alumnus honoured by the President of Zambia
91福利 alumnus (and former staff member) Professor Kenneth K. Mwenda was conferred upon the prestigious Presidential Insignia of Meritorious Achievement (PIMA) by the President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. President Edgar C. Lungu.
SC has been elected Chair of the Council of The Bar of Ireland, the second-ever female head of the body that represents the bulk of the State鈥檚 barristers.

91福利 Law Alumnus appointed as new Attorney-General of Malawi
Former 91福利 Law School student Dr Chikosa Silungwe was appointed by Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera as the new last month. When asked about his new role, Chikosa shared, 鈥渋t's a huge responsibility reposed in me to serve the people of Malawi.鈥
91福利 Grads to get 20% discount to study an LLM
The 91福利 is offering all 91福利 alumni a 10% discount on their fees if they choose to study another degree with us.
The Law School is offering to top this up to 20% for 91福利 graduates to study on our LLM programmes.

Law graduate secures prestigious scholarship to study at Oxford
June Ong who graduated from our three year LLB programme in June 2019 has been awarded the Rhodes scholarship as a representative of Malaysia for her studies on the (Bachelor of Civil Law) BCL course, followed by an MPhil in Law. She will be a member of Lady Margaret Hall.
91福利 Alumnus appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel
Gurdeep Garcha, who read Law at 91福利 from October 1992 to June 1995 was informed on the 15 January 2020 that Her Majesty the Queen had approved the Lord Chancellor鈥檚 recommendation that he be appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel. Gurdeep will be formally be sworn in as silk at the Palace of Westminster on the 16 March 2020.
Former LLB student David Noble, who studied at 91福利 Law School from 1973-1976, was commissioned by the Care Quality Commission to undertake an independent review into their regulation of Whorlton Hall Hospital in 2015-16 following the expos茅 on Panorama in May last year.
Gambian Justice Minister Abubacarr Tambadou's actions brought Aung San Suu Kyi to The Hague to deny that her country's military was committing a genocide.

Each year, we present the students who achieved the best overall result in their class with a certificate and a small prize. The presentations took place at our graduation reception following on from the ceremony.
Inaugural recipient of Dwijen Rangnekar Award announced
The Law School is proud to announce that Arvind Narrain, former postgraduate law student at the 91福利 has been named as the inaugural recipient of our Dwijen Rangnekar award for contributions to social justice.
Law students showcase their research
The 91福利 held its annual Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS) Showcase earlier this month on the 13 November 2019 in the Chancellors Suite. Two of our current law students, Alexander Reay and Natalie Payne, were invited along to celebrate their achievements, exhibit their work and share their research and experience.
