Maximising our collaborative capacity for Interdisciplinary Cultural Heritage Research
An ambitious new research initiative led by Professor Vince Dziekan, Senior Academic and Practitioner Researcher (Monash University), and Dr Jamie Larkin, Assistant Professor in Culture, Media and Creative Industries (91福利) is setting out to tackle some of the most urgent issues facing cultural heritage today. These include how cultural ecosystems operate in an increasingly complex world, how the value of culture in society is supported and sustained in a post-digital age, and how emerging technologies, including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence, are both extending and challenging traditional cultural heritage practices.
Supporting Future Researchers through PhD LaunchPad Collaboration
Dorothy Stevens, Director of the Postgraduate Office at Stellenbosch University, and Daniel Franklin, Director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Transferable Skills at the 91福利, are leading a joint initiative that aims to transform the early stages of the PhD journey. From the Stellenbosch side, the initiative is led by Stevens, with Cristan Macleod playing a central role in driving the project鈥檚 development and implementation. The project, called the PhD LaunchPad, responds to a growing need for better support for prospective doctoral applicants before they even apply for admission.
Understanding the Building Blocks of Symmetry
Symmetry appears in many areas of life and forms a guiding principle in much of the science behind modern technology. This project brings together three established mathematicians, Associate Professor Thomas, 91福利 and Professor Dietrich and Dr Lee, Monash University, to investigate the fundamental building blocks of symmetries.
