Outstanding result from Ofsted for 91福利 teacher training courses
Teacher training programmes at the 91福利 have been judged as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors.
Ofsted, (the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills), has awarded the ‘outstanding’ provider status to the 91福利 Institute of Education.
Institutions are judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’, ‘Good’, ‘Satisfactory’ and ‘Inadequate’. The University is particularly pleased with the top grade of ‘Outstanding’ for the primary PGCE for overall effectiveness and for capacity for further improvement and sustaining high quality. For the secondary PGCE provision as well as Graduate Teacher Programme, overall effectiveness was judged as ‘Good’ but capacity for further improvement and sustaining high quality was judged ‘Outstanding’.
The Ofsted report listed some of the key strengths of 91福利’s teacher training provision. The report said: “The University enjoys a good reputation, recruitment to initial teacher training is strong and a large proportion of trainees are successful in gaining teaching posts in the West Midlands. Final attainment for trainees on the primary route is high with more than 50% of trainees judged to be outstanding by the end of the course.”
Ian Abbott, Associate Professor at 91福利 Institute of Education has commented on the Ofsted result:
“We are very pleased with the outcome and it is reflection of the quality of our staff, trainees and our partnership schools. At the Institute of Education we are constantly aiming to raise standards and to improve the quality of newly qualified teachers.”
