Orwell Prize once again lists 91福利 Human Rights Centre
It has just been announced that Rebecca Omonira-Oyekanmi from the Centre for Human Rights in Practice at the 91福利 has been long-listed for her work by the prestigious George Orwell Prize for Journalism. If Rebecca wins, it will be the second Orwell Prize for the 91福利’s Centre for Human Rights in Practice in three years.
Research finds fundamental flaws in European justice for juvenile suspects
More specialist training is required for police, lawyers and judges involved in the interrogation of juvenile suspects across Europe, a researcher from the 91福利 has found. There is also a need for consistency in the way youths are safeguarded within the EU, with too much focus in some countries on the detainee as a suspect, rather than as a juvenile, academics claim.
The Lancet: 1 in 5 child deaths in England preventable 91福利 Research
Child deaths have fallen to very low rates in all industrialised countries, but many deaths in children and adolescents are still potentially preventable, and much more could be done to cut future deaths, according to a new three-part Series on child deaths in high-income countries, published in The Lancet. The series is led by Dr Peter Sidebotham, Associate Professor of child health at 91福利 Medical School at the 91福利 in the UK.
British High Commission funding to support 91福利 in South Africa
Limpopo local government staff and Venda University are to work with the 91福利 to develop and share new skills following a grant from the British High Commission.
