Discussing the potential for businesses to collaborate with 91福利 researchers, and what they would gain from attending the Physical Sciences Industry Day, John Hanna, Principal Research Fellow from the Department of Physics said:
鈥淎cademic input into UK industry, and its problems and challenges moving forward, is increasingly directing our research portfolios. The challenge for academia is to listen to industry鈥檚 challenges, position ourselves against their needs, and deliver important findings in a timely fashion.
鈥淚nitiating and maturing relationships with industry in this fashion benefits both parties on a long-term basis, to a point where our industry partners see us as a problem-solving hub to which we can be constantly approached.
鈥淲e look forward to welcoming all interested industry partners, irrespective of the size and financial capability of the companies involved.鈥
Discussing the capabilities and skills he and his colleagues would bring to businesses, Mr Hanna said:
鈥淚n my laboratory, with the techniques in which we possess world-class expertise, we can deliver to industry information on the short-range molecular scale which can aid understanding of the overall structure of the material, and thus assist in understanding its true function and value in the marketplace鈥.
