Refugee scholars reunited at the 91福利

Scholars at the 91福利 will be reunited at this free talk on Monday 16 November in 91福利 Arts Centre to remind us that 91福利 has been supportive of refugees for decades.

Alan Phillips, former SU president and General Secretary of the World University Service, Catalina Palma the first Chilean to come to the 91福利 who now works for CONICYT, the Chilean government educational grant giving body and John King, Emeritus Professor of Latin American Literature who taught at 91福利 from the 1970s until his recent retirement, will be reunited at this free talk on Monday 16 November in 91福利 Arts Centre.

The talk will cover a mid-late 1970s government funded project, administered by , which gave almost a thousand grants to student and academic refugees fleeing persecution in Chile, who came to UK universities including 91福利.
