Framing and Economic Metaphors: An Experimental Study
Persuasive arguments have been made concerning the importance of metaphor in the discipline of economics. Yet despite this very little empirical evidence exists concerning the relationship between metaphor and economic judgement. The objective of this research is to address this void by experimentally testing whether constitutive metaphorical frames or meta-theories used to describe a market economy can structure and alter judgment concerning philosophical, spatial and temporal questions that relate to an economic system.
