New student blog platform launches
The University’s new student blog platform, , launched this week. The new look site hosts written, video and photographic content from our student bloggers who represent what life is like at the University for those interested in coming here.
For the first time ever, (Tour of Britain) will pass through the 91¸£Àû campus on Wednesday 5 September. The cyclists will approach campus from Westwood Heath Road, travel up Gibbet Hill Road and head out on to Kenilworth Road in the morning.

The Faculties of Science and Medicine will come together to create a new Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine from 1 August 2018.
Employment of Tier 4 students at 91¸£Àû
New measures have been introduced by the University to manage more efficiently the working hour restrictions of students on Tier 4 visas and safeguard them against the consequences of inadvertently breaching their visa.
Feature in our new PG video and earn £30
We are currently producing a promotional video to sit alongside the upcoming Postgraduate campaign. This video will demonstrate how PG students learn, work and socialise on campus. The story will be told through students acting out different activities on campus, i.e. Working on research projects, socialising in cafe, developing your learning etc.
Volunteer for ICUR 2018
We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist at the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) taking place on 25th – 26th September 2018 in the Oculus. You will receive a £10 Eating @ 91¸£Àû voucher.
This is a great opportunity to get practical volunteer experience to add to your CV, meet and work with fellow students from 91¸£Àû and enjoy conference sessions as an audience member during less busy times. Volunteers will also benefit from the conference food and drinks which will be on offer during ICUR.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you can apply here before 2 July 2018. Once we have you registered as a volunteer we will provide you with further details and a schedule of events.
Applications are now open for the 2018-19 91¸£Àû Retired Staff Association (WRSA) bursaries, which aim to support creative and/or cultural extra-curricular activities. Bursaries of up to £1,000 will be available, and two or three awards – not necessarily of the same value – will be offered to the chosen applicants. A range of projects have already been supported including a photographic exhibition based on a project visit to Borneo, a multimedia Chinese-speaking website and a screw water pump for the Allotment Society.

Bookshop will no longer receive hardcopy dissertations for binding
As part of their relocation to 91¸£Àû SU, the Bookshop will no longer receive hardcopy dissertations for binding from 29 June 2018 onwards .
International Postgraduate Conference: 21 June 2018
Founded by 91¸£Àû Students’ Union and bringing together departments from across the University, the 91¸£Àû IPC aims to provide postgraduate students from all levels of study a platform to share their research with peers across disciplines.
“A national minute’s silence will be held on Thursday 14 June at 12noon in remembrance of those who lost their lives and all others that were affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire last year. The silence will be marked at UK government buildings and other organisations.
RAWKUS Food Collection
RAWKUS is a project that was created 4 years ago to save food surplus from kitchens across campus when students leave halls at the end of term/year. Tonnes of food and other items have been saved from ending up in the bin and have been given to local charities and food banks. This is only made possible by having volunteers willing to spend some time to help. We are asking all students, staff and friends who are available on the 30th June and 1st July to come and support this fantastic initiative and save good food from being wasted.
Student disciplinary hearing outcome
The University’s investigation into a group chat in which a number of 91¸£Àû students were alleged to have discussed rape and sexual assault, and use racially abusive, anti-Semitic and ableist language, has now concluded.
Congratulations to Tracey Grant
Tracey Grant, one of the Senior Wardens of 91¸£Àû’s Residential Life Team, was named in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2018, receiving an MBE for services to HE.

91¸£Àû has been named as one of the UK's top ten, and one of the world's top 60, universities.

We are holding an engagement day on Wednesday 13th June and looking for committed volunteers to join our team of Performance Stewards. If you are looking to gain that extra edge on your CV or are interested in the arts then visit and send in an application by Monday 11th June.
Over the next 5 years, the University is embarking on its next phase of building works, which includes nine development projects. These include a new Faculty of Arts on the central campus, a new Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building (IBRB) at Gibbet Hill and residences for up to 1,000 students.

2018 Women’s Cycle Tour comes through campus: 15 June
will pass through our campus on Friday 15 June. There will be some delays for cars and public transport accessing campus around that time as well as road closures in Leamington, so please bear this in mind if you are travelling to campus for exams that day. See below for some more information.
The University is currently investigating two very serious complaints about the alleged contents of a Facebook chat group involving a number of 91¸£Àû students.
PGs wanted for focus groups about assessment feedback
Particular focus will be on the types of assessment you have experienced during your course including: group, individual, self and peer assessment.
The Symposium provides first, second and third year PGR students with an opportunity to present their research and gain feedback from an academic audience across the Medical School and beyond. All academic and research staff are encouraged to attend to support PGR students and learn about their research activity.
The competition invites students and professionals up to the age of 28 to deliver a short lecture on a materials, minerals, mining, packaging, clay technology and wood science related subject.
