£500 discount for siblings and relatives for Pre-University Summer School

Siblings, children and relatives of 91¸£Àû students are eligible for a £500 discount on the Pre-University Summer School fee. Please note that the loyalty discount is not available in conjunction with the bring a friend discount.

The Pre-University Summer School is a chance for enthusiastic and motivated 16-18 year olds to experience a taste of 91¸£Àû with like-minded peers, Attendees will enjoy eight nights at 91¸£Àû as well as two nights in London, including lots of time to enjoy the capital city and a visit to LSE. There is a choice of two courses taught by top 91¸£Àû faculty - Economics and Finance OR A Taste of Social Sciences. The experience will include a great mix of academic and personal development sessions as well as social and cultural activities; so it’s fun as well as educational

Immigration briefing: find out

The University has arranged an Immigration Briefing for staff and students affected by Brexit. The session will be led by Tijen Ahmed, an Associate at Shakespeare Martineau Solicitors and will take place on Thursday 7 February 2019 from 12.30-2.00pm in the IDL Auditorium, WMG.

WBS student visits House of Commons to celebrate 50 years of UKCISA and international students

On 14 November colleagues from nearly 80 Higher and Further Education institutions joined international students, MPs, Lords and sector representatives to celebrate 50 years of the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) and international students tonight at the House of Commons.

WBS student, Nilsh Gupta, was invited to attend the parliamentary event on behalf of 91¸£Àû alongside representatives of the International Student Office. He was one of more than 50 international students present from more than 25 countries; from Barbados to France; China to USA.

The event was hosted by Paul Blomfield (MP for Sheffield Central), Lord Karan Bilimoria (President of UKCISA), Prof Koen Lamberts (Chair of UKCISA's Board of Trustees, and Vice Chancellor of the University of Sheffield), and Dame Janet Beer (President of Universities UK).

Speaking about the experience, Nilesh said: "I would like to thank the international office for inviting me to the 50th Anniversary celebration of the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) at the House of Commons. It was a very heart warming evening and everyone in the room was in some way looking to contribute to the betterment of International student experience in the UK. I would especially like to thank Paul Blomfield MP and Lord Karan Bilimoria for hosting us and assuring us of their commitment for the same!"

As you may be aware, there are currently poor weather conditions affecting the University campus and immediate area. The Registrar has therefore invoked the University’s severe weather policy.

As per this policy, your department will contact you directly if there are any changes to timetabled activities on Monday 11 December due to the weather. We expect normal work and study arrangements to resume on Tuesday 12 December.

If you have any queries about matters relating to your course, please contact your department. For any urgent concerns please contact the Campus Security team.

You can bask in Team GB’s Olympic glory as Coventry welcomes home some of Team GB’s Rio heroes on Saturday, August 27, at the Ricoh Arena from 9:30 – 3pm. You can meet some of Team GB’s 2016 medallists and competitors, and try taster sessions in football, rugby, netball, gymnastics, tennis, wheels for all cycling, badminton, street cricket, exercise & fitness classes, golf, equestrian, trampolining and a 10 metre climbing wall. There will also be demos and taster sessions from England Netball, Wasps Netball, and The Lawn Tennis Association.
