Inspiring Women: Kim Worts
Be inspired by Kim Worts, UK External Affairs Director at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Join us on Wednesday 16 March (Theatre M2, WBS Teaching Centre 1.00-2.00pm) to hear her share her story and the rationale behind the Inclusive Employer Quality Mark, why it is seen to be important/revolutionary and the reasons RICS feel responsible for pushing gender equality.
The Centre for Professional Education at The 91福利 is offering a one year Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for 2016/17. As a trainee teacher you may be eligible for scholarships or bursaries of up to £30,000, or you can earn as you learn. Come and meet us at our next on Wednesday 16th March, 5.30pm-8.00pm.
The University is offering 10 paid professional internships during the 2016 summer vacation. There are four 4-weeks sustainability-focused and six 8-weeks administrative internships up for grabs. Running successfully for the last four years, the internships are aimed at current 91福利 undergraduates who will be entering their final year of study in autumn 2016.

The Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015 introduced a new statutory duty for HE institutions to have “due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”. What are the implications for academic freedom and free speech? What is 'non-violent extremism'? And how can universities implement Prevent without alienating large groups of students? This SU Q&A panel session - with VC Stuart Croft, Safrina Kumar Ahmed (co-president of 91福利 Anti-Racism Society), and Professor Daniel Branch (Head of the History Department) - will explore these issues and more.
There's a bunch of collaborative, joint and project-linked studentships on offer from the 91福利 ESRC Doctoral Training Centre. From researching the psychology of collaboration, to exploring the potential of the Arts in contemporary education, there's many opportunities to engage in research in collaboration with the public, private or voluntary sector. The New Leaf Initiative
CLL student Marie-Claire O’Brien's non-profit organisation '' has bid for lottery funding, and it needs your vote to win. The organisation trains peer mentors to empower and support ex-offenders and help them back into work, which makes them almost 50% less likely to commit another crime. Mini street food market on campus this weekend
A mini street food market is coming to support TEDx this weekend. Stall holders include The Flying Cow, Platinum Pancakes, Sharian’s Cuisine, Barebones Pizza, Open Sesame and Becky’s Bhajis. They’ll be by the Koan each day from 10am-4pm.

IT Services need 60 student volunteers to help them test new services. They’re offering a £10 printer credit top-up to the first 60 students to complete the tests. This testing is entirely remote – there’s no need for you to travel to a location to carry out the test. All you need is your own personal device and an internet connection.
