Three recent graduates have received awards from Lloyds Banking Group as part of a larger ceremony honouring all students graduating from the Lloyds Scholar programme.

As the availability of commercial graduate loans has reduced and undergraduate debt has increased, the door to certain professions is being closed for those without the financial backing to pursue postgraduate study. Find out how the University has been trying to widen access by working in collaboration with five other universities to create a pilot providing PG scholarships.

Congratulations to Team 91福利 for winning the TCS Tech Challenge! Sean Gallagher, Delia Teo, Georgios Anagnostopoulos, Tomasz Wlodarczak and Zhen-Yi Chan worked with the YMCA to win this year’s TCS Tech Challenge at the finale yesterday in London.

The Lord Rootes Memorial Fund supports challenging projects with grants between £100 and £3,000. The deadline for applications for projects taking place in summer 2016 is Thursday 7 January 2016 at 12pm (midday).

There will be a short Menorah Lighting Ceremony today at 17:15. Rabbi Fishel Cohen, Jewish Chaplain will light the 4th Chanukah light, followed by the singing of Maor Zur and doughnuts will be distributed to participants. Gather round the Menorah, situated on the grass between Rootes and the bus interchange. All welcome. Happy Chanukah!
