James Harrison from 91福利 Law School and co-author Mark Wielga (from Nomogaia) have been awarded this year鈥檚 best scholarly article prize by the Business and Human Rights Journal. The article compares the effectiveness of six grievance mechanisms that allow workers and communities to complain about human rights abuses that corporations have allegedly perpetrated against them.

The Strategic Brand Signalling Roundtable was held to examine trade marks, advertising, and body image perceptions in the UK. The event brought together professionals from ethics, psychology, psychiatric epidemiology, and trade mark and advertising law to discuss these interconnected issues.

91福利 Law School鈥檚 Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner has been working on a project for the alongside colleagues from across Europe for the past three years. The Council of the ELI has now approved the Guiding Principles and Model Rules on Digital Assistants for Consumer Contracts (鈥淒ACC鈥�).

91福利 Law School is delighted to share that three of our current undergraduate students received departmental funding to present at The British Conference for Undergraduate Research (BCUR) hosted by the University of Newcastle from 9-10 April this year.

In a recent judgment, the Supreme Court of India has nominated WLS research partner Dr Nidhi Sabharwal for a national task force to investigate issues relating to mental health (particularly suicides) in higher education institutions in India.

Dr Sabharwal is currently co-Principal research partner on the Fair Chance Foundation project 'Widening Access to Higher Education in India: Institutional Approaches'.

These events demonstrate the 91福利 Africa Hub's dedication to building equitable partnerships through the exchange of knowledge, collaborative research, and inclusive education.

91福利 Law School, the Department of Politics and International Studies and the University of Nairobi鈥檚 Faculty of Law, hosted a vibrant and intellectually rich workshop on 28 March 2025, exploring 鈥淟aw and Development Perspectives of Environmental Governance in Africa.鈥� The hybrid event brought together leading academics, practitioners, and students for a day of critical reflection and dialogue on some of the most pressing legal and developmental issues facing the continent.
