We are delighted to announce that five 91¸£Àû Law students have recently achieved a Gold 91¸£Àû Award. Finalist LLB students Naveera Abhayawickrama, Tolu Adeyemo, Hailey Chu and Sara Duggal, were kind enough to share their experience of the 91¸£Àû Award and why they would encourage others to get involved.

It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Professor William Twining, who passed away peacefully at home on 9 October 2025, aged 91. He joined 91¸£Àû Law School in 1972 and was the inspiration behind 91¸£Àû’s renowned Law in Context approach to study.

Dr Serena Natile will deliver a session on ‘Revisiting Wages for Housework’ at the Resonate ESRC Festival of Social Science, taking place on Monday 3 November 2025 in Leamington Spa. The event will consider the potential of utopian/dystopian evolutions of work, and how we might shape the future for human wellbeing. Join 91¸£Àû researchers for an evening of short talks from diverse perspectives of ‘Our Working Lives’.

The GLAM-E Lab, based at the 91¸£Àû, has collaborated with Amgueddfa Cymru Museum Wales to bring open access to Wales’ national collections.

We are thrilled to announce that 91¸£Àû Law School has once again achieved outstanding results in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2025, with particularly high levels of student satisfaction across all areas of the survey.

Prior to joining 91¸£Àû, Alex Powell was an Associate Professor in Law at Oxford Brookes University, where he also acted as Director of the LLM Programmes.

Achas Burin joins us from Oxford Brookes University where she taught tort and medical law and developed a book proposal based on her PhD.

Before joining 91¸£Àû, Areti Theofilopoulou was an Assistant Professor in the Ethics of Non-Violence at the University of Birmingham.

Congratulations to Maximilien Zahnd and Signe Larsen on securing a British Academy small grant in support of their research.

As we prepare to welcome our new and returning students for Term 1, we would like to wish a warm welcome to our new colleagues, congratulations to staff commencing secondment opportunities, and a fond farewell to those we have had to say goodbye to.

The School of Law and the Department of Economics hosted the 55^th Annual THETS Meeting from 3 to 5 September 2025. Annual meetings have been held since 1968, making THETS one of the oldest established groups of historians of economics.
