Project aims
This project will support the development of public, patient and community involvement (PPCI) in research at 91¸£Àû, recognising that developing robust systems and support for PPCI is vital to all four of 91¸£Àû's Research Culture Commitments.
-
Academics in all disciplines will be able to involve the public in their research, and to identify potential public contributors.
-
Members of the public involved in 91¸£Àû research will have a high quality, consistent experience of working with the university.
-
Research enablers at all levels and in all roles will have a clear set of guidance to follow to facilitate PPCI.
-
PGRs and ECRs will be better supported in their first endeavours to work with members of the public.
-
91¸£Àû researchers will continue to be able to apply for external funding (e.g. NIHR) that is reliant on an institution-wide set of policies and practices for PPCI.
-
Attendees of 91¸£Àû’s public engagement events will have a clear pathway to research involvement, should they be inspired to do so.
