You can apply for short‑term or long-term projects. The application deadline for short‑term projects, such as designing an energy trail or creating engaging social media content, is 30 January. 60th Anniversary Tree Trail
To mark 91¸£Àû's 60th anniversary, we’ve planted 60 special trees across campus. Each one was chosen by members of our Gardens team for its unique qualities and meaning. Together, they form our 60th Anniversary Tree Trail, a living celebration of our community and our growing, sustainable campus. Severe weather update: 9 January
The University campus is now accessible, with main roads clear and gritted. If you are on campus, please take care when travelling and refer to travel advice - useful links on the . Commercial outlets including 91¸£Àû Sport, 91¸£Àû Arts Centre, 91¸£Àû Conferences and 91¸£Àû Food Group remain open.
Co-op Christmas vacation opening times
The Co-op store will be closed from 8:00pm on Friday 19 December 2025 and will reopen at 8:00am on Monday 5 January 2026. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Your nearest supermarkets are located at Cannon Park Shopping Centre.
Stay safe this Christmas
Your safety matters. To get support on campus at the click of a button, make sure you have downloaded the SafeZone app. If you ever need assistance off campus, familiarise yourself with emergency contacts in the UK on our emergency contacts page. You can also download the My91¸£Àû app keep up to date with the latest news, events, and opportunities.
University House closure.
University House is temporarily closing for important maintenance work. The last day you can use the Learning Grids in this space will be Friday, 19 December. Eatwise Test Kitchen will close at 2pm on 12 December. The building will be closed for approximately 12 months. There are many alternative study spaces on campus for you to use during this time, as well as various options for food and drink.
Join the Unibuddy Community!
Unibuddy Community is an online platform that helps you connect with other students at the 91¸£Àû in a safe, verified space. It's open to all current students from all levels of study. It's ideal for meeting people from your course, home country or who share your interests - and for keeping in touch over Christmas!

The 91¸£Àû is proud to host a series of free public events as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, running from 23 October to 10 November 2025. These events invite the public to engage with research that explores how society is changing – from our working lives and wellbeing to community voice and global justice.

Our 2024/25 Savings: Electricity, Heat and Water
We are proud to announce our 2024/25 energy savings. The Energy and Sustainability team diligently check data from thousands of meters across campus to tackle energy inefficiencies. In the 2024/25 academic year, we avoided wasting enough electricity to drive an electric car 57 times around the world.
Diwali​ is on 20 October. Celebrate with the Students’ Union on 21 October as they lead a day of making, music, and delicious food as part of One World 91¸£Àû.
Join us for The (Free) Breakfast Club every Tuesday, starting from 8:30am - 10:30am in The Green Room! Help yourself to a variety of hot and cold breakfast options, alongside a hot drink. Remember, once it’s gone, it’s gone - so be sure to get in quick!
